Coast Guard participates in Blue Star Memorial Marker dedication
The Blue Star Memorial program began with the planting of 8,000 Dogwood trees by the New Jersey Council of Garden Clubs in 1944 as a living memorial to veterans of World War II.
Members from the Coast Guard, U.S. Army and Navy participated with the Jefferson Parish Council of Garden Clubs, Inc., for the dedication of a Blue Star Memorial Marker at Veterans Blvd and Causeway Blvd. The Blue Star Memorial program has numerous gardens throughout Louisiana.
